Pieces of You is a book about grief, remembering, and how to hold on to those we have lost.
Three years after their Dad's death, Sam and Marty set out to recreate their Dad's Perfect Day. With the help of the local community, Sam and Marty face their fears of forgetting their Dad and explore different ways to remember loved ones.
A Note from the Author
Growing up, my sisters and family helped me to remember my dad who died when I was young. Every year, my family would find special ways to remember him. My experiences growing up with my sisters and grieving my dad has fueled me to write Pieces of You. I hope this book inspires you to give yourself grace when trying to remember your loved ones.

Pieces of You highlights the different ways that people remember those who have died. I remember my dad through music (the Beatles, to be specific), food (yellow cupcakes with chocolate frosting), and photos (pictured above). How do you remember your loved ones?
Why This Book?
Growing up, I found myself looking for books that reflected my experiences and all of the “big” feelings I had. Having now studied art and writing in college, I felt called to revisit those experiences in Pieces of You. I believe that children are more-than-capable of reading about these topics, and I hope this book helps some people along the way.
